Allegany county be and they are hereby required hereafter to
pay the salaries of the teachers of public schools in paid county
monthly; and that said teachers be and they are hereby re-
quired to make their reports to the said Board of School Com-
missioners for Allegany county, monthly, instead of quarterly;
failure on part of said commissioners so to pay shall be pun-
ished by a fine of twenty-five dollars for each case.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 202.

AN ACT to repeal Article 33, entitled "Elections," of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, and the several
Acts and parts of Acts, amendatory thereto, and to re-enact
the said Article 33 with amendments.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That article 33, entitled "Elections," of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, and the several acts and
parts of acts amendatory thereto, be and the same are hereby
repealed, and the said article 33, is hereby re enacted with
amendments, so as to read as follows :

ARTICLE XXXIIL— ELECTIONS.

SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS.
1. The Governor shall biennially appoint, by and with the

advice and consent of the Senate, if in session, and if not in
session, then the Governor alone shall appoint, in each and
every county of the State, and in the city of Baltimore, three
persons, who shall constitute and be styled "the Boards of Su-
pervisors of Elections, of the respective counties and of said
city." Said supervisors shall be residents and voters in their
respective counties, or in the city of Baltimore, as the case may
be; and two of them shall always be selected from the two
leading political parties of the State, one from each of said
parties. They shall be men of high character and integrity,
and of recognized business capacity. Before appointing such
