LAWS OF MARYLAND

MARYLAND, Sct:

At a session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun and
held in the City of Annapolis, on the first day of January,
1908, His Excellency, AUSTIN L. CROTHERS, being Governor,
the following laws were enacted, to wit:

ARTICLE IX.

ATTACHMENTS.

CHAPTER 665.

AN ACT to repeal Section 33 of Article 9 of the Code of Public
General Laws of the State of Maryland, title "Attachments, "
sub-title "Attachments of Wages or Hire, " so far as said sec-
tion applies to Allegany county, and re-enact said section
with amendments, said section as re-enacted to apply to Alle-
gany county only.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 33 of Article 9 of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Attachments, " sub-title "Attachments of Wages or
Hire, " is hereby repealed so far. and so far only, as said section
applies to Allegany county, and the same is hereby re-enacted
so as to apply in its amended form to Allegany county, and to
be known as Section 186A of Article Number 1 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Exemp-
tion of Wages on Attachment, " said section as re-enacted to be
and read as follows:

SEC. 186A. No attachment of the wages or hire of any laborer
or employe, in the hands of the employer, whether private in-
dividuals or bodies corporate, shall affect any salary or wages
of the debtor which are not actually due at the date of the
attachment; and ninety per cent, of such wages or hire due to
any laborer or employe by any employer or corporation shall
always be exempt from attachment by any process whatever,
provided such exemption shall not exceed one hundred dollars.
