RET. JAMES R. L. DIGGS.

Rev. James R L. Diggs, A. M. Ph. D.. Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church
and President of Clayton Williams Academy, was educated at Wayland
Seminary, Washington, D. C., and completed advanced courses at Buck-
Bell College, 1898, Cornell University and the Illinois University, earn-
ing the doctor's degree in 1906. Ras served six years as professor of
Latin and Instructor In French and Philosophy in Virginia Union Cnl-
versity, and five years as President of State University, Ky., and Vir-
ginia Seminary, and was dean of Selman University from 1911-1014.

Prof. Diggs married Miss Alberta M. Pack, a cultured and refined
woman of rare educational attainments, a fine German student. She
earned both the Master's and Bachelor's degrees. She taught German
and History In Selma University. 1914. Mrs. Diggs is a native of Hin-
ton, W. Va.
