Mrs Jessie Eleanor Shaw, the daughter of the Reverend Dr. and Mrs. Harvey
Johnson, is a musician of broad culture and exceptional skill. For many years she
has been a consistent student of the piano at the New England Conservatory at
Boston and a private student of some of the most renown teachers of music For
years she has been the efficient organist of the Twelfth Street Baptist Church.

Mrs Shaw is also a composer. In recent years she has appeared in piano
recital in the finest music halls in Boston and elsewhere. She was lately presented
in recital at Union Baptist Church, Baltimore, to a large and appreciative audience
by the Music Committee of the Colored High School, of which she is an alumnus.
