REV. FRANCIS J. GRIMKE, D. D.

Rev. Grimke was born in Charleston, S. C., November 4, 1850. Graduated
from Lincoln University June, 1870, and from Princeton April, 1878. He became
pastor of the Fifteenth Street Presbyterian Church, Washington, D. C., imme-
diately after graduation from the seminary.

Dr. Grimke began supplying the Fifteenth Street Presbyterian Church
May, 1878. He was ordained and installed July, 1878; resigned October 27, 1885;
returned March 25, 1889. His record is 45 years a minister, 42 of which has
been spent in the Fifteenth Street Presbyterian Church.
