Grand Master Willard W. Allen Gives Recapitulation of

Work Accomplished During His Tenure of Office

During the Ninety-second Annual Communication of the most
Worshipful United Grand Lodge of the State of Maryland, held in Frederick,
Maryland, which closed recently, Grand Master Allen in his enumerations
presented the following vital facts to the assembled body:

1. That from 1922 to 1939 there were 726 death claims, amounting
to approximately $140,900.00 in cash which had been paid to the widows and
orphans of Master Masons, not including the various donations to charitable
institutions, business organizations, etc. which, when taken into consideration
together with the paid claims aggregated $165,000.

2. That the Masonic Temple, originally worth $75,000, had reduced
its mortgage indebtedness to $10,209.85.

The Grand Master stated that the affairs of the Grand Lodge
were managed by a Board of Trustees, namely: Willard W. Allen, Thomas
H. Waters, Joshua Robinson, Grant E. Biddle, Samuel D. Hayward, Joseph
A. Egans, Wm. E. Fletcher, Andrew J. Evans, Alphonso Lee, Alfred Nixon,
Daniel C. Brewington, John H. Mitchell, Wm. A. Jones, J. Maurice Butler,
Joseph Edwards, Cornelius T. Ward, George V. Lottier, Harry Dobson.
