manufactured of inferior materials and by common workmen: but high-priced ones
just the reverse of all this. Nothing can convey a more incorrect idea of its real:
value than the outward appearance of a Piano: for two Pianos may be set before a
gentleman or a lady, and both look so nearly alike, that none but adequate judges
could make a proper choice, yet one of those Pianos would be richly worth $300,
whilst the other could be sold for $200. This arises from the quality of material and
the workmen employed. Pianos of small or light sets of strings do not require the
same quantity or quality of material and workmanship, as those containing more
powerful sets of strings; hence, the difference in quality and price.

Persons wishing Pianos from this Establishment have no necessity to visit the
City or send an Agent; but let them write to the Proprietor, describing the kind of
Instrument they want, and the price, and one will be sent, which, if it does not come
up to their expectation for the price, they need not take it.

The Proprietor and his Agents make it their practice, at least once a year, when-
ever they happen in the neighborhood where any of their Instruments are, to tune
them, if they require it, without charge.
