Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That George Brewer,
George Feidt, Jonathan Hower and Jacob Houck,
elders, and William T. Peterman, Martin Luther
Beard, Jacob Sword and Joel Charles, deacons
and members of the Lutheran Vestry of Clear-
spring, and their successors, be and they are here-
by declared to be a corporation and body politic,
to have, hold, receive, manage and retain all the
property, whether real, personal or mixed, now
properly belonging to the said Church, whether
in law or equity, for the use and benefit of said
Church, according to the rules and discipline of
said Church.

Empowered
to hold proper-
ty, Ac.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall and
may be lawful for the said corporation and their
successors, if they deem it proper, to have a com-
mon seal for their use, and the same at their will
and pleasure to alter, break and make anew, and
shall in general have and exercise such rights,
privileges, franchises and immunities as by law
are incident and necessary to corporations of this
kind, and shall be capable in law to sue and be
sued, to plead and be impleaded, answer and be
answered unto, defend and be defended, in all or
any Courts of Justice, and before any Judges,
officers or persons whatsoever.

Powers.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Church
shall hereafter be called and known by the name
of the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church
of Clearspring, and the said body politic so elected
and to be elected by the members of the aforesaid
association, shall be known as the Lutheran Ves-
try of the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church
of Clearspring.

Name.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
