LAWS OF MARYLAND.

waters appurtenant to or within the same, for
Camp Meeting and Sunday School purppses and
uses, and for the general uses and purposes of, the
Methodist Episcopal Church on Kent Circuit ; and
that, by their said corporate name, they may sue
and be sued, plead and be impleaded, in any of
the courts of this State, and may make by-laws
and regulations for the government and enjoyment
of said land and premises, rights, ways and privi-
leges.

Board of Trus-
tees — how fill-
ed.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all vacancies
that may occur in the said Board of Trustees may
be filled by elections to be made by the survivors,
whether such vacancies arise from death, removal,
resignation, or ceasing to be a member of the said
church.

Exempt from
taxation.

In force.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said land,
after such conveyance, shall be free from taxation,
State, county and school tax ; and that this act
shall take effect from its passage.

 

CHAPTER 248.

AN ACT to authorize the Armorer at Frederick
city to contract for the altering and repairing
flint lock muskets belonging to the State
of Maryland now in possession of the several
Captains in Frederick county.

also, to have
the same re-
paired.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Armorer at Frederick be
and he is hereby authorized to require the several
militia Captains in Frederick county to return to
him the flint lock guns in their possession, and
when received he is ordered to contract with* one
or more gunsmiths, to alter and repair said flint

Proviso.

pairing to percussion lock guns ; provided, the
cost thereof does not exceed one dollar and fifty
cents per gun.
