174 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 133.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendment, Section 397 of
Article 27 of the Code of Public General Laws, title '' Crimes
and Punishments," sub-title "State Penitentiary," as
amended by Chapter 96 of the Acts of 1912.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 397 of Article 27 of the Code of Public
General Laws, title '' Crimes and Punishments,'' sub-title '' State
Penitentiary," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, so as to read as follows:

397. The warden shall receive a salary at the rate of three
thousand dollars per year and allowance of subsistence, fuel and
occupancy as a dwelling of such parts of the front buildings
as are not used for prison purposes, also all necessary outhouses,
yards and grounds not within the walls of the prison proper,
but shall receive no other compensation or perquisite.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on May 1st, 1914.

Approved March 20th, 1914.

CHAPTER 134.

AN ACT to repeal Section 401 of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Montgomery County," sub-title "Plats," as the same
was enacted by Chapter 790 of the Acts of 1912, and to re-
enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 401 of the Code of Public Local Laws of the
State of Maryland, title "Montgomery County," sub-title
"Plats," as enacted by Chapter 790 of the Acts of 1912, be, and
the same is, hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
so as to read as follows:

SEC. 401. The maker of said plat or plats when the same
shall be presented for record shall furnish the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court for said County two copies of such plat, or plats,
with a direction, endorsed thereon and signed by the owner of
the land subdivided, to the said Clerk to record the said plat or
plats, one of which shall be by said Clerk placed in and attached
to the book hereinafter provided for, and the other shall, by
said Clerk, be attached to and make a part of the "substance
