George Gale    To the Worshipfull the Justices of Somerset County the Petition of George Gale humbly Sheweth
   Petn    that the following Slaves Vizt Limas, Jamey, Jack, Palina, Perthena, and Bess the property of your
Petitioner are by Age and Infirmities Rendered unable to doe labour Sufficient to maintain themselves
and pay taxes your Petitioner therefore Request that they may for the future be tax free and he as in duty
bound will pray                                                                                       Geo: Gale
Whereupon Came here into Court the afd. Petitioner in his proper Person and thereupon the petition afd.
being Read and heard and fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Negro Limas be for the
future tax free as by the petition afd. is praid and also it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Negro Jamey
be for the future tax free as by the petition afd. is paid And also it is Considered by the Court here that the afd.
Negro Jack be for the future tax free as by the Petition afd. is praid And also it is Considered by the Court here
that the afd. Negro Palina be for the future tax free as by the petition afd. is praid And also it is Considered
by the Court here that the afd. Negro Parthena be for the future tax free as by the petition afd. is praid
And also it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Negro Bess be for the future tax free as by
the Petition afd. is praid &c.

Southy Whittington    To the Worshipfull Justices of Somerset County in Court now Sitting the humble petition of
      Petn.    Southy Whittington Senr most Humbly Sheweth that whereas your petitioner is Possest with
a Negro Wench Named Hannah whom with age and other Infirmities hath Rendred her Almost past
her Labour for which your Petitioner Humbly prayeth that your Worships would be pleased to Consider
the premisses and Set her Tax free for the future and Your petitioner as in duty bound Shall Ever pray &c
      Whereupon Came here into Court the afd. Petitioner in his proper person       Southy Whittington
And thereupon the Petition afd. being Read and heard and fully understood it is Considered by the Court here
that the afd. Negro Hannah be for the future tax free as by the Petition afd. is praid &c

Sarah Hastins    Sarah Hastins an Orphan of her Own free Consent is bound out by the Court here an
     Bound to    Apprentice According to Act of Assembly in Such Case provided unto Solomon Hastins of
Solo: Hastins    Somerset County untill she the Said Sarah Should Arrive at the Age of Sixteen Years the
Said Sarah to Serve her Said Master the full term afd. during which term the Said Apprentice her Said
Master well and faithfully she Shall Serve his Secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly
Every where willingly he Shall doe and in all things as a good and faithfull Apprentice she Shall
demean herself towards her Said Master and all his during the term afd.
             In Consideration of which Service the Said Solomon Hastins present herein Court in his
Proper Person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in Manner and
form following that is to Say that he the Said Solomon Hastins Shall and will during the term afd. Learn
his Said Apprentice the trade of a Weaver and to Knit Sew and Spin and to Read well in the bible and at the
Expiration of her Servitude Give her a New Suit of Cloaths of Linsey Woolsey over and above her Common
Wearing Cloaths and Likewise find and provide for his Said Apprentice meat drink washing Lodging and
Cloathing Sufficient for Such an Apprentice to have and wear during the term afd.
           Whereupon the Said Solomon Hastins is Ordered to give Security to Comply with the Covenants
afd. Thereupon a Certain the Said Solomon Hastins together with Moses Carmean and John Lecat of
Somerset County Planters his Securitys all present herein Court in their proper Persons Acknowledged
themselves Indebted unto the afd. Sarah Hastins in thirty Pounds Curt Money of Maryland on their bodys
Goods or Chattles Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally to the use of the Said Sarah Hastins her heirs &
Assigns to be made and Levied if it happen that the Said Solomon Hastins do not during the term afd.
Learn his Said Apprentice the trade of a Weaver and to Knit Sew and Spin and to Read well in the bible
and at the Expiration of her Servitude do not Give her a New Suit of Cloaths of Linsey Woolsey over
and Above her Common wearing Cloaths and do not Likewise find and provide for his Said Apprentice
