Somerset fst    Att a court of his Lordship the Right Honrble Frederick Absolute Lord and Propry of
the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c. held at Princes Ann Town
the third Tuesday of March being the Seventeenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. one thousand
Seven hundred and Sixty one by his Said Lordships Justices the peace in the Same County to keep Assigned
of Whom were present

   Isaac Handy    Samuel Adams    Gentlemen
The Worshipfull    Sampson Wheatly    William Winder    His Lordships Justices

   Joseph Gillis    Ephraim King

   Ephraim Wilson    Thomas Jones
      John Dennis Shef.

        Thomas Hayward Sr Clk Coy Court Somt.
Whereupon the Court being Called Set as above proceeded to Business in manner following Vizt

      Proclamation being made the Sheriff of Somerset County Returned a pannell of Grand
Jurors to Inquire for his Lordship and the body of this County of Somerset as follows Vizt William Skervin
Charles Leatherburry, Thomas Pollit, Elijah Coulbourn, Jonathan Stott, George Bozman, Joshua Hitch, William
Waltom, Teague Dickerson, Jonathan Tull, Michael Cluff, Joshua Atkinson, Jonathan Pollit, Levin More
Mitchell Dashiell, Fenton Catlin, Thomas Benston, William Donehoe, Isaac More, William Furnis
Mathew Cannon & John McGraw who being Severally Called over by their Names do Appear as above
And were Sworn and Charged and Sent out to Consider Soon after the Grand Jurors afd. So as afd. Impannelled
Charged and Sworn Returned here to the Court and being Again Severally Called Over Returned to the Court
here the following Indictments Against Thomas Hayward Jur. William Smart, Keturah Jones Eliza. Bounds
William Pollit, John Furlong, Negro Liverpool, Negro Cate, Ann Fasque and John Oskilly thereupon the Grand
Jurors afd. are discharged and Allowed four hundred pounds of Tobacco for their Service this Court And that Against the
afd. William Smart Elizabeth Bounds, William Pollit, John Furlong And Ann Fasque so as afd. Indicted it is
Ordered that Capias Issue Returnable to June Court next &c

Ordered that William Hayward Esqr prosecutor of his Lordships pleas in Somerset County Court order and
direct the Issuing out all Such Summonses as he Shall think Necessary to testify to the Grand Jury Against Any
person or persons whatsoever &c.

Thomas Crouch
   Bound to    Thomas Crouch an Orphan of his Own free Consent is bound out by the Court here an Apprentice
Hugh Henry    to the Revd. Hugh Henry According to Act of Assembly in Such Case provided untill he the Said
Thomas Crouch Should Arrive at the Age of Twenty one Years the Said Thomas to Serve his Said Master the
full Term afd. during which term the Said Apprentice his Said Master well and faithfully he Shall Serve his
Secrets keep his Commandments Lawfully and honestly every where willingly he Shall doe and in all things
as a good and faithfull Apprentice he Shall demean himself towards his Said Master and all his during the
term afd.    In Consideration of Which Service the Said Hugh Henry present here in Court in his proper person
Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in manner and form following that is
to Say that he the Said Hugh Henry Shall and will during the term afd. Learn his Said Apprentice the trade of
A Cordwainer and to Read Write and Cypher as far as the Rule of three Inclusive and at the Expiration of his
Servitude give him a new Suit of Cloaths over and Above his Common wearing Cloaths and as many Cordwainers tools
as will be Necessary to make a pair of Shoes and Likewise find and provide for his Said Apprentice meat drink washing
Lodging and Cloathing Sufficient for Such an Apprentice to have and wear during the term afd.
   Whereupon the Said Hugh Henry is ordered to give Security for to Comply with the Covenants afd. thereupon
the Said Hugh Henry together with Isaac Handy and Ephraim King of Somerset County Gent. his Securitys all
present here in Court in their proper persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto the afd. Thomas Crouch in
thirty pounds Curt Money of Maryland on their bodys goods or Chattles Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally
to the use of the Said Thomas Crouch his heirs and Assigns to be made and Levied if it happen that the Said Hugh
Henry do not during the term afd. Learn his Said Apprentice the trade of a Cordwainer and to Read Write and
Cypher as far as the Rule of three Inclusive and at the Expiration of his Servitude do not Give him a New
Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths and as many Cordwainers tools as will be
