prop.ry in this behalfe prosecuteth Doth Come here into the s.d L.d prop.ry his
County Court at Chester Town in Kent County afd the Eighteenth Day of August
Anno Domini Seventeen hundred twenty and four in his proper pson and for
the same Lord prop.ry Doth give the Court here to understand and
be Informed that James Watson late of S.t pauls parish in Kent Coty
afd planter the first Day of July Anno Domini Seventeen hundred
twenty and four at the parish afd in the County afd within the
Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a Certain Margaret Foreman in
the peace of God and of the said Lord prop.ry then and there being with force
and Arms on Assault Did make and her the said Margaret then and there
did beat wound and Evilly Treat So that of her life it was much Dispa^i^r'd
and other harms to her then and there Did to the great Damage of the
said Margaret and Contrary to the peace of y.e s.d L.d prop.ry that now is
his good Rule and Government Whereupon the afd Michael Howard
prayeth the Advice of the Court herein y.e pmisses and that Due process
of Law may Issue against the said James Watson in this part to be made
to answer unto the s.d L.d prop.ry of and upon the pmisses

    Whereupon the afd James Watson in his proper person Comes &
Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Informacon afd so as afd against him ^brought^
nor but that he is guilty of the pmisses above upon him Imposed as by
the afd Information it is alledged & thereupon Submits to the Court
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Courthouse
in the Town of Chester in Kent County afd this Eighteenth Day of Aug.st
Anno Domini one thousand Seven hundred and twenty four that the
afd James Watson pay unto the Right Honble the Lord prop.ry of this
Province of Maryland &c.a the sume of one Shilling Cur.t money as a fine
for his afd offence of Committing assault and Battery in form afd
Confest Also it is Considered by the Justices afd here that the same James
pay the sume of one hundred and Sixty Seven pounds of Tob.o Costs
accrueing on the pmisses afd to the officers of this Court
