    Att a Court held for Kent County in the province of Maryland at
the Court house in the Town of Chester in said County on the
fifteenth Day of August & Continued the Sixteenth Seventeenth
and Eighteenth Day of the same Month in the twelfth Year of the
Dominion of Charles Absolute Lord and prop.ry of the provinces
of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c.a Anno Dom.

for fornication the Sher of Kent County to whome the said
writt was Directed makes Return thereof to this Court here
to wit on the third Teusday of August being the fifteenth day of s.d Month
Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty Seven the Day of Return of
s.d writt Endorst as foll.s viz.t Cepi Corpus p Jn.o Gresham Sher

    Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord prop.ry that now is
for Kent County afd upon their Oath Do present that Anne King late of S.t
pauls parish in the County afd Spinster the Tenth Day of June Anno Dom.
one thousand Seven hundred twenty and Six at the parish afd in the County
afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court Did Comit fornication with a Certain
person to the Jurors afd unknown and Did permit the Same unknown person
then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then
and there a Bastard Child on the Body of her the Same Anne to the high
Displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in Such
Case offending Contrary to the peace of the s.d Lord prop.ry that now is his
