Thomas Chandler, Thomas Medford, William Crow, Vincent Hutchinson
Philip Brooks John Denning & Will.m Dean who being Duely Elected tryed
& Sworn to Say the truth on the premisses upon their Oath Do Say that they
find the prisoner at the Barr Guilty of the felony whereof he Stands Indicted
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here this twentyeth Day of
March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty four that the afd Garret
Closey Stand for the Space of one hour in the pillory, and ^afterwards^ receive at the
publick whipping post fifteen Lashes well laid on his bare Back till the
blood appears for his afd Crime of Committing fellony as afd as also that he
pay to Fred.k Hanson four fould being to the Vallue of Six Shillings
Current money the Goods Stolen being Valued at one Shilling & Sixpence
Current money afd also it is adjudged that the s.d Garret Closey pay the
Sume of Eight hundred and twenty two pounds of Tobacco Costs Accrueing
on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court

    Ordered that the Sherr of Kent County take the afd Garret Closey & Sett
him In the pillory there to Remain for the time above s.d then to Sett him
to the whipping post and Execute the Lashes in the Judgm.t afd Specified
afterwards to Bring him into Court again of which s.d precept the s.d
Sherr viz.t Fred.k Hanson Gent makes Return on the Day & year last
said that he hath Executed the Judgment afd And also that he hath here
the s.d Garret Closey before the Court                            Jam.s Smith Clk

    The afd Garret Closey haveing been Comitted into the Sherrifs Custody
for his appearance Dureing Court Sitting And now y.e s.d Gar.t haveing
appeared he is Discharged from his Committment afd

    Ordered that the Sherr of Kent County keep him the s.d Garret Closey
in safe Custody untill he Shall give Security for y.e four fould amounting
to Six Shillings Current money and y.e Sume of Eight hundred and
twenty two pounds of Tob.o Costs accrueing on y.e Judgment afd
