The John Carter Brown Library 1634 Relation

   John Carter Brown (1797-1874) was possessed by the
bibliomaniacal demon: Americana was his passion. The
acquisitions of Brown's thirty years' collecting reveal
his pursuit of the book as idea. Yet the book as form
was also of concern to this collector of the "Great Sub-
ject." Presented below is a bibliographical description
of the original pamphlet here reprinted.
