Mr. Harryman and Mr. Davis have leave of absence.
The following message being read and agreed to, was sent to the senate by the clerk.

By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, November 14, 1806.
Gentlemen of the Senate,

WE have appointed Mr. Kerr, Mr. Pearce, Mr. Sudler, Mr. M'Pherson and Mr. Martin, a committee on
the part of this house, to join such gentlemen as may be appointed by you, to form a committee of both houses
to compare and examine all bills from time to time, during this session, as soon as they shall be severally en-
grossed.

By order, J. BREWER, clk.
The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

SATURDAY, November 15, 1806.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday, except Mr. Harryman and Mr. Davis. The
proceedings of yesterday were read.

On motion. Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act to establish a tribunal for the administration of
justice in chancery cases on the eastern shore, and to repeal such parts of the constitution and form of govern-
ment as are incompatible therewith. ORDERED, That Mr. Smoot, Mr. Chapman, Mr. Dickinson, Mr. Denny
and Mr. Winder, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.

The bill for the benefit of William, Mary, Elizabeth, Levin and Britannia Murphy, of Dorchester county,
Was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The clerk of the senate delivers the following message:

By the SENATE, November 11, 1806.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates,

WE have appointed Mr. Partridge, Mr. Dorsey, Mr. Gibson and Mr. M'Elderry, on the part of the senate,
to join the gentlemen named by you in your message to compare and examine the engrossed bills.

By order, T. ROGERS, clk.
Which was read.

The following order was read. ORDERED, That the mode of receiving messages from the senate as now prac-
tised be discontinued, and that in future it shall not be necessary to announce a message from that branch of
the legislature when brought by the clerk. And the question put, Will the house now give the same a second
reading? Resolved in the affirmative.

Which being read the second time, the question was put, Will the house agree to the same? Resolved in the
affirmative.

Mr. Aisquith, from the committee, delivers to the speaker n bill, entitled, An act to incorporate the stock-
holders in the Mechanics Bank of Baltimore; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The bill to authorise John Evans, James Cockran and Joseph Phillips, securities of Samuel Cowdon, late she-
riff of Caecil county, to complete the collections of said sheriff, was read the second time, passed, and sent to
the senate by the clerk.

A petition from Francis Fairbrother, of Anne-Arundel county, stating that he had been wounded in the army,
and praying some assistance from the state, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Williams, Mr. Belt, Mr.
Gale, Mr. Winder and Mr. P. Stuart, to consider and report thereon.

Mr. W. H. Brown, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An additional supplement to
the act, entitled, An act to ascertain the allowance to jurymen and witnesses of the general court, and the se-
veral county and orphans courts in this state; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The bill authorising a lottery to raise a sum of money for the purpose of building a mill in Worcester county,
was read the second time, and the question put, Shall the said bill pass? Resolved in the affirmative. Which
was sent to the senate by the clerk.

On the second reading of the supplement to the act, entitled, An act for the amendment of the law in certain
cases, the question was put, That the title thereof be stricken out? Resolved in the affirmative.

On motion, the question was then put, That the words " An act authorising the justices of the orphans courts
to take sheriffs bonds, " be inserted in lieu of the words stricken out? Resolved in the affirmative.

On progression, the question was put, That the words " and the bond when so taken shall be lodged with the
clerk of the county court of the county in which the same may have been taken, and shall by him be recorded
among the records of his county, and upon such bond, or any office copy thereof, suit or suits may be instituted
against the obligor or obligors, " be added to the said bill? Resolved in the affirmative.

The bill being read throughout, the question was put, Shall the said bill pass? Resolved in the affirmative.

A petition from Sophia Davis, of Worcester county, praying that Susanna Davis, her mother, may be sup-
ported out of the poor-house, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Sturgis, Mr. Keene and Mr. White, to
consider and report thereon.

The clerk of the senate delivers the following message:
