Jump and John Boon, Esquires; for the city of Baltimore, Thomas B. Dorsey and Robert Steuart, Esquires;
for Washington county, John Bowles, David Schnebly, Moses Tabbs and Upton Laurence, Esquires; for Mont-
gomery county, William Carroll, William Darne, Benjamin Ray, junior, and John Linthicum, Esquires; for
Allegany county, Upton Bruce, Benjamin Tomlinson, Thomas Greenwell and Hanson Briscoe, Esquires,
All which is submitted.

Which was read the first and second time by especial order and concurred with.

The speaker laid before the house a letter from Upton Laurence, Esquire, a delegate returned from Wash-
ington county, resigning his seat in this house; which was read.

Mr. Kerr, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to settle and ascertain the
salary of the members of the council for the ensuing year; which was read the firs: time and ordered to lie on
the table.

A petition from Ely Dorsey, and Araminta his wife, of Frederick county, praying a confirmation of their
marriage articles, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Harryman and Mr. Steuart, to con-
sider and report thereon.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act. to make valid certain proceedings of the register
of wills for Charles county. ORDERED, That Mr. C. Dorsey, Mr. Emerson and Mr. Stone, be a committee
to prepare and bring in the same.

The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

FRIDAY, November 6, 1807.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.

On, motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act for the regulation of officers fees. ORDERED,
That Mr. Stone, Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Kerr, Mr. Davis and Mr. Shaaff, be a committee to prepare and bring in
the 'Same.

A petition from Britania Marshall, of Dorchester county, praying to be divorced from her husband, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to Mr. Frazier, Mr. Henry and Mr. Mitchell, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Baltimore county, praying a road from the Pennsylvania line at the
lane of Jesse Low, leading by John Freeland's and by Peter Shock's mill, to intersect the great road a little
above Benedict Hurst's tavern leading in to the York turnpike, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Little,
Mr. Harryman and Mr. M. Brown, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from Susan Williams, stating that a law passed at November session, 1805, for the liberation of
herself, children and grandchildren, and that the names of one of her sons and a grandson were omitted in
said law, and praying a supplement thereto far remedy thereof, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. C. D.
Hodges, Mr. C. Dorsey and Mr. O. Williams, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from Thomas J. Pattison, late sheriff of Dorchester comity, praying a further time to complete
his collections, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Henry, Mr. Frazier and. Mr. Jump, to consider and
report thereon.

ORDERED, That the clerk to the governor and council be requested to Jay before this house the journal con-
taining the proceedings of the executive for the present year.

A memorial from John Gassaway, register of wills tor Anne-Arundel county, stating that some of the re-
cords in his office want transcribing, and praying same order of the legislature relative thereto, was preferred,
read, and referred to Mr. O. Williams, Mr. Belt and Mr. Shaaff, to consider. and report thereon.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, A further supplement to an act, entitled, An act for
amending, and reducing into system, the laws and regulations. concerning last wills and testaments, the duties of
executors, administrators and guardians, and the rights of orphans and other representatives of deceased per-
sons. ORDERED, That Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Shaaff and Mr. Forwood, be a committee to prepare and bring in
the same.
