Governor and Council have sold confiscated property, and made a return thereof to the treasurer, amounting to
£22 10 0.

All which is submitted to the honourable house.

Which was read.

The clerk to the council delivers the journal of the executive for the present year.

Mr. T. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to increase the salary of
the chief judge of the sixth judicial district; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The following resolution was read the first and second time by especial order and assented to.

RESOLVED, That this house sit, for the dispatch of public business, from the hour of nine o'clock in the
morning until three in the afternoon.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act to encourage the destruction of crows in the se-
veral counties therein mentioned. ORDERED, That Mr. Hall, Mr. Harryman and Mr. W. H. Brown, be a com-
mittee to prepare and bring in the same.

The speaker laid before the house a letter from Samuel A. Otis, Esq; accompanied with a copy of the jour-
nal of the senate of the United States during the second session of the ninth congress; which was read.
The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

SATURDAY, November 7, 1807.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
Mr. W. H. Brown, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Monica Greenwell, administratrix of Robert Manning,
hue of Saint-Mary's county, deceased, report, that they have taken the same into their serious consideration,
and find, on examination, that the petitioner's late husband, Robert Manning, had, on the thirtieth day of Ja-
nuary, seventeen hundred and eighty-six, paid into the treasury the full amount of the purchase money for the.
land by him bought of the state, agreeable to the tenor of the bond given to the state. They further report,
that from the several documents to them submitted it appears, that the said Robert Manning has paid into the
treasury the sum of one hundred and fifty-four pounds four shillings and ten-pence halfpenny current money, for
which he has received no value, there being a deficiency in the land by him purchased of the state to that
amount; they therefore submit the following resolution to the consideration of the house:

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Monica Greenwell, administratrix of Robert
Manning or to her order, the sum of one hundred and fifty-four pounds four shillings and ten-pence halfpenny
current money, it being the amount of the deficiency in the land purchased by the said Robert Manning of this
state. By order, D. L. JACOB, clk.
Which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

A petition from the mayor, city council, and others of the city of Baltimore, praying an appropriation of
money for the benefit of the city hospital, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Little,
Mr. Harryman, Mr. Kerr and Mr. Mitchell, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from Joseph Green, late sheriff of Charles county, praying a further time to complete his collections,
was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. C. Dorsey, Mr. W. H. Brown and Mr. Rogerson, to consider and
report thereon.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the relief
of sundry insolvent debtors, passed at November session, 1805. ORDERED, That Mr. T. Dorsey, Mr. Shaaff,
Mr. Little, Mr. Harryman and Mr. Steuart, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.

A petition from Sarah Thompson, of Frederick county praying an additional allowance for the support of
her insane children, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Biggs, Mr. Shriver and Mr. Kuhn, to consider;
and report thereon

A petition from Susanna Beamer, of the city of Baltimore, praying to be divorced from her husband, was
preferred and read, and, on motion, the question was put, That a standing committee be appointed for all peti-
tions of a similar nature? Determined in the negative.

ORDERED, That Mr. Steuart, Mr. Little and Mr. Harryman, be a committee to consider and report on said:
petition.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act authorising the levy court of Anne-Arundel coun-
ty to defray the allowance of the jurymen of Anne-Arundel county court in the manner therein mentioned. OR-
DERED, That Mr. C. D. Hodges, Mr. Shaaff and Mr. O. Williams, be a committee to prepare and bring in the
same.

Mr. Henry, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act authorising Thomas J Patti-
son, sheriff and collector of Dorchester county, to complete his collection; which was read the first time and
ordered to lie on the table.
