late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd Spinster the Servant of William Frisby Esq.
the tenth day of Aprill Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty at the Parish
afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicion of this Court did Commit fornication with
a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permit the Same unknown person
then and there to have Carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a
Bastard Child on her body of her the Same Margret to the high Displeasure of Almighty
God to the Evill Example of all others in Such Case offending Contrary to the peace of the
Said Lord propry that now is his good Rule and Government and against the Act
of Assembly in Such Case made and provided &c.a

                On the back of the Same bill was endorsed as foll. viz.t A true bill

    And the afd Margret Comes into Court and in her proper person appears to
the afd Indictm.t    And the Same Margret Falconar in her proper person comes
& Saith that She Cannot gainsay the Indictm.t afd So as afd against her brought nor but
that She is guilty of the premisses above upon her imposed as by the afd Indictment
it is alledged & Thereupon Submits to the Court    Therefore it is Considered
by the Justices here to wit at the Court House in the Town of Chest.r in Said
County on the third tuesday of Nov.r being the Seventeenth day of Said
Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and thirty that the afd Margret Receive
on her bare back ten lashes untill the blood app.r as a punishment for
her Crime afd for Committing the offence of fornication afd as also ^pay^ two
hundred and thirty Eighteen pounds of Tobacco Cost Accrueing on the premisses
afd to the officers of this Court &c.a

    It is also Considered by the Court here The Day and year last
mentioned That the Sherf of Kent County take the afd Margret ffalconar into
his Custody and Execute the punishm.t in the Judgm.t afd Specified and afterwards
to bring her into ^Co.rt^ againe  of which precept to wit Joseph Young Gent high
Sherf of Kent County makes return on the Day & year last Said That he
hath Executed the punishm.t in the Judgment afd and also hath ready
here the Said Margret Falconar before the Court        Jo Young Sherf

the afd Philip Carroll and in his prop.r pson appears and prays the Same Recogniz.c
may be discharged    Ordered by the Court here That the Same Recognizance be disch.d

    The Same Philip Carroll his Recognizance in the Sume of twenty pounds
Sterl for his appearance to this Court to Answ.r unto what Should be objected
against ^him^ at this Court is by this Court here disch.d

    George Griffith of the afd County the Same day afd before the Same
Justices Ent.rd into Recognizance in the Sume of twenty pounds
