NO. 2.

A Joint Resolution, Requesting the United States Biologi-
cal Survey not to further restrict the open season for
the taking of wild waterfowl in Maryland.

WHEREAS, There have been indications to the effect that
the United States Biological Survey would either close or
place further restrictions in adopting regulations for the
hunting of wild waterfowl in Maryland; and

WHEREAS, From the abundance of migratory wild water-
fowl which were found on the watered areas of Maryland
during the fall of 1935 and winter of 1936, there seems
to be no necessity for either closing the season or providing
regulations further restricting the taking of same; there-
fore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That we
earnestly request the United States Biological Survey to
provide regulations for the taking of wild waterfowl in
Maryland for the hunting season of 1936-37 to conform with
regulations provided for the taking of same during the
hunting season of 1934-35; and we further request that
baiting or feeding of wild waterfowl be permitted under
seasonal permits issued by the United States Biological
Survey; and that the bag limit be increased to not less than
twelve (12) wild ducks per day and possession limit be
not less than two (2) days' bag limit; and be it further

Resolved, That the United States Biological Survey be,
and it is hereby, requested not to close or further restrict
the open season as provided by the regulations for the tak-
ing of wild waterfowl during the season of 1934-35 in the
State of Maryland; and be it further

Resolved, That the Representatives from the State of
Maryland in the Senate and House of Representatives of
the United States be and they are hereby requested to urge
upon the United States Biological Survey the importance
of this matter; and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of the State of Maryland
be and he is hereby requested to transmit under the
Great Seal of this State a copy of the aforegoing Resolution
to the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture of the
United States and to the United States Biological Survey.
