ting memorial or memorials to the late Honorable Albert
C. Ritchie, and that said Commission shall have all powers
necessary and proper to the erection and the establishment
of said memorial or memorials. Said Commission shall
further be empowered to acquire and hold in its name land
or other property necessary for the purposes of said me-
morial or memorials, to make and enforce contracts, and
to do all other acts and things which may be necessary to
the accomplishment of that end.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That said Commis-
sion in the foregoing section created and established, shall
have the power and authority from time to time to in-
crease its number for the purpose of providing representa-
tion to various sections of the State, and shall be authorized
and empowered itself to appoint said additional members
to the Commission. And said Commission shall likewise
be authorized and empowered to fill from time to time, as
they may occur, any vacancies upon the said Commission.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the Commission created in Sec-
tions one and two hereof shall be known as "The Albert C.
Ritchie Memorial Commission."

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the first day of June, Nineteen Hundred
and Thirty-six.

CHAPTER 2.

AN ACT to repeal Section 9 of Article 13 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Bills of Ex-
change and Promissory Notes," sub-title "Legal Holi-
days," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 9 of Article 13 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland, title "Bills of Exchange
and Promissory Notes," sub-title "Legal Holidays," be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, so as to read as follows:
