1312 VETOES.

Chapter 319, House Bill 10, exempting motor boats from
the gasoline tax, is a duplicate of Chapter 25, which has
been signed.

Chapter 365, House Bill 16, relating to appeals from de-
cisions of the State Industrial Accident Commission, is a
duplicate of Chapter 545, Senate Bill 23, which has been
signed.

Chapter 442, House Bill 665, relating to the levying of
taxes for the support of the Silver Spring Public Library
Association, is a duplicate of Chapter 531, Senate Bill 476,
which has been signed.

For these reasons, each of the bills first above mentioned
has been vetoed.

ELECTIONS.

Chapter 595, Senate Bill 228, permits the voters of Dor-
chester, Howard, Kent, Queen Anne's, Talbot and Wor-
cester Counties to vote for all candidates of any political
party by so indicating at only one place on the ballot.

As this legislation would encourage straight party voting,
it would be a step backward and I have, accordingly, vetoed
this bill.

FISH.

Chapter 562, House Bill 398, amends the law relating
to fishing in certain waters in Frederick and Washington
Counties.

On the recommendation of the State Game Warden, I
have vetoed this bill.

FREDERICK COUNTY.

Chapter 566, Senate Bill 391, decreases the license fees
for dogs and authorizes the constables or special officers
employed by the County to seize dogs not bearing proper
license tags.

I see no good reason for changing the present law and
have, therefore, vetoed this bill.

GAMBLING DEVICES.

Chapter 300, House Bill 79, provides for the licensing of
claw or digger machines and pin ball games.

At the request of several Judges of the Supreme Bench
of Baltimore City, I have vetoed this bill.
