diately after Section 313E, prohibiting smoking or carrying
lighted cigars, cigarettes or tobacco pipes on street cars,
trackless trolleys or buses in Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be, and it is hereby added to Article
3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Health and Sani-
tation", said new section to be known as Section 313F to fol-
low immediately after Section 313E of said Article and to
read as follows:

313F. It shall be unlawful, for the period of the duration of
the present war and for six months after the termination
thereof, for any person to smoke or carry a lighted pipe, cigar
or cigarette on a street car, trackless trolley or public bus in
Baltimore County. Any person violating the provisions of this
section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon con-
viction thereof, shall be subject to a fine not exceeding Ten
Dollars ($10. 00) for each and every such violation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed upon by yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 893.
(House Bill 174)

AN ACT making appropriations for the support of the State
Government and for the aid of sundry schools and institu-
tions and for other purposes for the fiscal years ending,
respectively, on June 30th, 1946, and on June 30th, 1947.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That subject to the provisions hereinafter set forth and
subject to the Public General Laws, of Maryland relating to
the Budget procedure, the several amounts hereinafter named
as "appropriations, " or so much thereof as shall be sufficient
to accomplish the purposes designated, are hereby appropriated
and authorized to be paid to the respective departments,
boards, commissions and officers of the State, and to the respec-
tive schools and institutions, and for the several purposes
specified, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1945, and ending
June 30, 1946, and for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1946,
and ending June 30th, 1947, as hereinafter indicated.
