CHAPTER 27.

An additional supplement to the act, entitled an act to in-
corporate the Buckingham Academy in Worcester Coun-
ty, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
thirteen, chapter thirteen.

CHAP. 28.

Passed Jan. 29,
1841.

WHEREAS, the trustees of Buckingham Academy in
Worcester county, have recently erected a new and com-
modious house for the better accommodation of the schol-
ars; and whereas, the old house known as Buckingham Aca-
demy is of no longer use to the said trustees — therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and alter the passage of this act, it shall and
may be lawful for the trustees of Buckingham Academy to
sell and dispose of by deed of bargain sale, the old house
and lot known as Buckingham Academy, and to apply the
proceeds of the same for the use of the new Buckingham
Academy in such manner as they may deem best

An act to confirm and make valid the proceedings of the
Trustees of the First Presbyterian Church of Carroll
County, and for other purposes.

Passed Jan. 27,
1841.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General As-
sembly that in recording the constitution of the First Pres-
byterian Church of Carroll county, an omission of one of
the principal articles of said constitution was made — there-
fore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the proceedings and acts of the trustees
of the First Presbyterian Church of Carroll county, be and
the same are hereby confirmed and made as valid as if the
ninth article of the constitution of said church had been re-
corded according to law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees have
full power to cause said ninth article to be recorded as now
by law directed, and the clerk of Carroll county is hereby
authorised to record the same; and that the said church
shall henceforth be known by and styled the Springfield
Presbyterian Church of Carroll county.
