No. 65.

1839.

Resolution relating to Postage.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay the postage on
journals, documents and letters, to which members are
entitled, that may be sent to them from the seat of govern-
ment, within sixty days after the adjournment of the Le-
gislature.

Resolution in favor of William McNeir.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to William Mc-
Neir, eighteen dollars, for printing done by him since the
journal of accounts was closed.

Resolution in favor of the Chief Clerks and the Door
Keepers to the two Branches of the Legislature.

WHEREAS, the House of Delegates has passed an or-
der requiring the chief clerk of this house to furnish Judge
Clement Dorsey with copies of the Public General Laws
and the Public Local Laws, which originated in the House
of Delegates; and the Senate has passed a similar order,
making the same requisition of its chief clerk as to acts
• of the same -character which originated there; and whereas,
by a resolution of this General Assembly, it is made the
duty of the chief clerks of its two branches to make and
furnish to the printer a classification of the acts which
have passed this session, according to a plan designated
in the said resolution; and whereas, this Legislature has
no right to impose labor upon the said clerks, which is not
•within the sphere of their duty, without their consent, and
•without a reasonable compensation therefor — therefore,
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore, be and he is hereby
