OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Code of Maryland (1947 Edition)
DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at an election held on March 31,
1952, an Act known as Chapter 543 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1951 was submitted to the voters of
the Town of Taneytown, Carroll County, for their adoption
or rejection, under the provisions of Chapter 543 of the
Acts of 1951, said Act being:
"An Act to authorize and empowers the Mayor and
City Council of Taneytown, to borrow a sum or sums
of money not exceeding $400, 000 for the purpose of
paying the costs and expenses incident to preliminary
surveys, reports and estimates of engineers and
incidental costs thereto, and of acquiring and con-
structing a sanitary sewerage system and sewage
treatment and disposal plant".
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 190 votes were
cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 543 of the Acts of
1951 and 238 votes were cast against the adoption of the
said Act; and a majority of the votes being cast against the
adoption of said Chapter 543 of the Acts of 1951, it has
. therefor failed of ratification.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
