of directing the life tenant or holder of the defeasible
estate to execute such deed and receive the redemption
money, appoint a trustee to execute the deed and to receive
the redemption money. The court costs of the proceeding,
including the expenses of obtaining a corporate bond (the
amount of such expense being subject to the direction of
the court), shall be paid out of the money received for
the redemption of the rent. No purchaser shall be required
to see to the application of the purchase money.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 409
(Senate Bill 124)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
sections (b), (d), and (f) of Section 53 of Article 52 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Judgments", amend-
ing generally the laws as to the recording, certification,
indexing, and enforcement of judgments in the Peoples
Court of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-sections (b), (d), and (f) of Section 53 of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edi-
tion), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Judgments",
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

53. (b) All judgments rendered by the Peoples Court
of Baltimore City may be made liens on the real estate or
leasehold interest and terms for years in land of the
defendant in the City of Baltimore, except leases from year
to year and leases for terms of not more than five (5)
years, not renewable, to the same extent and effect as such
liens are now created by other Courts of Record in this
