first day of January eighteen hundred and forty-nine,
the State reserving to itself all its rights and remedies
against said sureties, notwithstanding the provisions of
this act; and that no proceedings shall be had upon the
bond of the said Joseph Everstine, deceased, late col-
lector as aforesaid, until after the said first day of Janu-

ary eighteen hundred and forty-nine; and provided also,
that before this act shall go into operation, the assent of
the securities on said bond to the provisions of this act,
shall be filed in writing in the clerk's office of Allegany
county.

CHAPTER 4.

Proviso.

An act for the relief of John Parran, administrator de
bonis non, of Richard E. Ireland, late sheriff and col-
lector of Calvert County.

Jan. 5, 1848.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John Parran, administrator de bonis
non, of Richard E. Ireland, late sheriff and collector of
Calvert county, be and he is hereby authorised to collect
all fees, taxes and claims due to the late Richard E.
Ireland, in virtue of his office as sheriff and county col-
lector, and the said John Parran is hereby empowered
to make collection of all such dues in the same manner
as said Richard E. Ireland would have been as sheriff
and county collector of Calvert county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said John Parran,
before he proceeds to execute for any fees, county taxes
or other dues, shall present or cause to be presented to
each and every individual at least ten days, before he
proceeds to execute, a bill of such claim or claims of
fees or county dues, with an affidavit thereto annexed,
and if such individual or individuals shall make oath or
affirmation before a justice of the peace for Calvert
county, that he, she or they have paid the same bill of
fees to Richard E. Ireland in his lifetime, or to any de-
puty, agent or collector under him, or to Benjamin S.
Ireland, administrator of Richard E. Ireland, or any
agent for him, then such oath or affirmation shall be a
full set off and forever hereafter bar all such claim or
claims.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall con-
tinue in force until the first day of January, eighteen
hundred and forty-nine.
