CHAP. 6.

CHAPTER 5.

Passed Jan.
11, 1850.

An act to allow William Lyles, of Thomas, former
Collector of Prince George's county, further time to
complete his collections.

Time allowed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Lyles, of Thomas, for-
mer collector of State and county taxes in Prince
George's county, be and he is hereby authorised and
empowered to collect any and all taxes or balances of
taxes now remaining due and uncollected by him in
the county aforesaid, in the same manner and with
the same privileges and powers he could or might
have done within the time, limited by law.

Make oath.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said William
Lyles, of Thomas, shall, in every instance, before he
proceeds to collect under and by virtue of this act,
make affidavit before some justice of the peace in said
county, that the same remains unpaid, and that he
hath not, directly or indirectly, received any security
or satisfaction for the same, more than the credits that
may be allowed thereon.

In force until
January 1861.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall con-
tinue and remain in force until the first day of Janu-
ary,one thousand eight hundred and fifty-one, and no
longer.

CHAPTER 6.

15, 1850.

An act to allow James I. Chew, former collector of
Prince George's county, further time to complete his
collections.

Time allowed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That James I. Chew, former collector
of State and county taxes in Prince George's county,
be and he is hereby authorised and empowered to
collect any and all taxes, or balances of taxes, now
remaining due and uncollected by him, in the county
aforesaid, in the same manner and with the same pri-
vileges and powers he could or might have done
within the time limited by law.
