CHAP. 55.

levy on the assessable property of said county, a sum

sufficient, to repair and furnish the Court House of said
county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.

AN ACT entitled, an act to provide for publishing
Reports of cases argued and determined by the
Court of Appeals.

Cases to be re-
ported.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the cases argued and determined
in the Court of Appeals, shall be reported us soon as
possible, after the close of each session of the court, by
an officer to be styled State Reporter.

SEC, 2. And be it enacted, That the State Reporter
shall be appointed by the judges of the Court of Ap-
peals, he shall hold his office for four years, unless
sooner removed by the said judges, and shall be re-eligi-
ble from time to time, and he shall receive an annual
salary of five hundred dollars.

Volume of re-
ports — how to
be printed, &c.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That each volume of
the reports shall contain at least six hundred pages, and
shall be printed on good paper, with clear type, and in
size, form, quality of materials and quantity of matter
per page, shall correspond, as nearly as possible, with
the fourteenth volume of the New Hampshire Reports,
published by McFarland & Jenks, in the year eighteen
hundred and fifty-one, and shall be sold at a price not
exceeding five dollars per volume, substantially bound,
or four and a half dollars in paper, to be printed, publish-
ed and bound at the expense of the Reporter, who shall
be entitled to the copy right of the volumes, and the State
agrees to take two hundred copies, delivered at the
State Library.
