CHAPTER 337.

Passed Mar.
10, 1856.

AN ACT for the benefit of Daniel Hubbard, a free
person of color of Caroline county.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly that Daniel Hubbard of Caroline county, a free
person of color, has by his industry, economy and
good conduct, acquired some real estate in Dor-
chester and Caroline counties which be is desirous
of transmitting by his last will, which, under the
existing laws of this State be is unable to do,
therefore,

Authorised.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the said Daniel Hubberd, be and
he is hereby authorised to devise, bequeath and dis-
pose of his said lands, tenements, and hereditaments
by his last will, and the said heirs are hereby autho-
rised and empowered to have, hold, occupy, possess,
inherit and enjoy the said lands, tenements and here-
ditaments, as fully as the lawful descendants of other
persons now do, any law, usage or custom, to the
contrary notwithstanding.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 338.

AN ACT to incorporate the Brookville, Sandy
Spring and Laurel Stage Company of Maryland.

ted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Benjamin R. Roberts, Samuel
Elicott, Warwick P. Miller, and their associates, suc-
cessors, and assigns, be and they are hereby created
a corporation and body politic, by the name and style
of the Brookville, Sandy Spring, and Laurel Stage
Company, and by that name may have succession,
and shall be able, and capable in law, to sue, and
be sued, plead, and be impleaded, answer and be
answered, in any court of law or equity, and to
