LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHARLES RIDGELY, (OF HAMPT.) ESQ. GOVERNOR.

At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, be-
gun and held in the City of Annapolis, on Monday the
2d December, in the year of our Lord 1810, and ended
on the 5th of February 1817, the following Laws were
enacted:

CHAPTER 1.

An act to make public a Road in Anne-Arundel County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
road located by Messrs. Charles S. Ridgely and John C. Weems,
in Anne-Arundel county, beginning for the same at the mouth of
the said John C. Weems's lane, and running through the lands of
the said Charles S. Ridgely and John C. Weems, until it inter-
sects the new Columbia turnpike road near Charles S. Ridgely's
mill, be, and the same is hereby declared to be, a public road,
and shall be kept in repair as other public roads are in said
county.

CHAPTER 2.

An act to make public and extend a Road in Somerset
County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a private road called and known by the name of the Ridge
Road, granted by the Somerset county court in the year seven-
teen hundred and ninety-nine, at the petition of Waggoman and
others, shall be deemed and taken as public road forever here-
after, and shall be kept up and repaired as all other public roads
in said county.
2. And be it enacted, That Elias Baily, Jesse Wainwright,
and Nehemiah Covington, or a majority of them, bo and they
are hereby appointed commissioners to open and widen said road,
not to exceed thirty feet wide clear of ditches, and also to sur-
vey, lay out, clear, open, and extend said road, from the corner
of Benjamin Hobb's fence, through the lands of Benjamin
Baily, Richard Ingersoll, John Smith and Arnold E. Jones, till
it intersects the county road from Monic Bridge to White Haven,
not exceeding thirty feet wide, clear of ditches, running in such di-
rection as the commissioners, or a majority of them, may deem
advantageous.
