CHAPTER 184
(House Bill 408)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 250 (i)
of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Testamentary Law", sub-title "Orphans' Court", providing
for the compensation of the judges of the Orphans' Court for
Montgomery County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 250 (i) of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Testamentary Law", sub-title "Orphans'
Court", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

250.

(i) Each of the Judges of the Orphans' Court for Montgomery
County shall receive the sum of [Eighteen Dollars ($18.00)] Thirty
Dollars ($30.00)
for every day's attendance upon the sessions of
said Court, not to exceed [$2,500] $4,000 in any year.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the compensation fixed by
this Act for the Judges of the Orphans' Court for Montgomery
County shall commence as of the effective date of the amendment to
Section 40 of Article 4 of the Constitution of Maryland proposed by
Chapter 124 of the Acts of 1956 and adopted by the qualified voters
of the State at the General Election held in November 1956.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

Approved March 11, 1957.

CHAPTER 185
(House Bill 423)

AN ACT to add Section 656 (j) to Article 66C of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title
"Oysters and Clams", to follow immediately after Section 656 (i)
thereof, prohibiting the taking or catching of oysters by dredge
in a certain portion of the waters of Calvert County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 656 (j) be and it is hereby added to Article 66C of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Natural
Resources", sub-title "Oysters and Clams", to follow immediately
after Section 656 (i) thereof, and to read as follows:
