CHAPTER 83
(House Bill 119)

AN ACT to repeal Section 171, and to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section 177, of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Miscellaneous
Licenses", combining licenses for the public laundry business with
licenses for the business of cleaning, dyeing and pressing, and
changing certain license fees.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 171 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Miscellaneous Licenses",
be and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 177 of the said
Article and sub-title of the Code, be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

177. Each person, firm or corporation, resident or non-resident
conducting the business of cleaning, dyeing, [and] pressing or laun-
dry
in this State, [when] whether done by steam, electric or other
power [than] but excluding laundry done by hand, shall before doing
so, take out a license therefor, and shall pay an annual license fee
therefor as follows:

[Establishments employing less than five persons $5. 00]

Establishments employing [not less than five persons and] not
more than ten persons.................................................................... ? 15. 00

Establishments employing not less than ten persons and not more
than twenty persons.................................................................... $ 50. 00

Establishments employing more than twenty persons............ $100. 00

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
May 1, 1961.

CHAPTER 84
(House Bill 156)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 184 of
Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition),
title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Motor Vehicles
Upon the Highways", relating generally to persons riding bicycles
or animals or driving animal-drawn vehicles upon a roadway.

CAPITALS indicate amendments to bill.
