to be known as Section 46A, and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 46 of said Article, authorizing the State Roads Commission to
designate certain of its employees to enforce all statutes, and rules
and regulations relating to the use by vehicular and pedestrian
traffic of the Susquehanna River Toll Bridge, the Potomac River
Toll Bridge, the Chesapeake Bay Toll Bridge, the Baltimore Harbor
Tunnel, sometimes known as the Patapsco Tunnel, and their
approaches.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section be and is hereby added to Article 89B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "State Roads",
said new Section to be known as Section 46A and to follow immedi-
ately after Section 46 thereof, and to read as follows:

46A. The State Roads Commission may designate such of its
employees as it deems proper to enforce all laws, and rules and
regulations relating to vehicular and pedestrian traffic using the
aforementioned facilities and their approaches. All such employees
so designated, when exercising such authority hereunder, shall wear
and display a metallic shield or badge indicating that said employee
is an employee of the State Roads Commission of Maryland.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 260
(House Bill 399)

AN ACT to repeal Section 172 of Article 89B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "State Roads", sub-title "Bridge
and Tunnel Revenue Bonds", and to enact in lieu thereof a new
Section 172, to stand in its place and stead, relating to the failure
or refusal to pay or to attempt to evade the payment of tolls, and
providing for the free passage of vehicles in procession in funerals.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 172 of Article 89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "State Roads", sub-title "Bridge and Tunnel
Revenue Bonds", be and the same is hereby repealed and a new
Section 172, to stand in its place and stead, is hereby enacted to read
as follows:

172. Any person who shall use or attempt to use any bridge or
tunnel for which the payment of toll is fixed and prescribed under
the provisions of Section 171 of this Article and shall fail or refuse
