GENERAL ASSEMBLY
of MARYLAND, begun and held at the City of
ANNAPOLIS on Monday the fecond of November
and ended the twenty-fourth Day of December
in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hun-
dred and ninety-five, the following LAWS were
enacted ;

C H A P. I.
An ACT to fettle and afcertain the falary of the members of the
council for the enfuing year.
Be it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That each member of
the council fhall be entitled to receive, for the enfuing year, the fum of
one hundred and fifty pounds current money for his falary.

C H A P. II.
An ACT to enable the court of appeals to continue certain caufes.

BE It enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That the court of
appeals, now fitting, be and they are hereby authorifed to continue any
caufe depending in the faid court until and during June term next which
they may think proper, in order for a hearing on the merits between the parties,
and not for delay.

An ACT for the deftruction of crows.

BE it enacted, by the General Affembly of Maryland, That if any perfon re-
fiding In Anne-Arundel, Prince-George's, Charles, Dorchefter or Calvert
counties, fhall bring to any juftice of the peace of the county in which
fuch perfon fhall reside, the head or heads of any crow or crows, fuch perfon
fhall, for every fuch head, be allowed, in the county levy of the faid county, the
fum of fix-pence current money; and the juftice of the peace before fuch
head or heads shall be brought is hereby required to give the perfon the
fame a certificate thereof, and caufe the faid head or heads to be burnt, or other-
wife-deftroyed.

II. Provided nevertheless, and be it enacted, That no perfon whatfoever
fhall be entitled to any allowance for any fuch head or heads, without firft
making oath, that fuch crow or crows was or were killed in the county where
fuch certificate is applied for, and that no certificate hath been obtained by any
other juftice of the peace for the fame.

III. This act to continue and be in force till the thirtieth day of January, fe-
venteen hundred and ninety-eight.

C H A P. IV.
An ACT to empower Robert Buchanan, Simon Wilmer, of Ed-
ward, and Henry Curry, fecurities for Thomas Jones, deceafed,
collector of Kent county, to complete the collection due and
unpaid to the faid Thomas Jones, deceafed, for the year feven-

teen hundred and ninety-five.

WHEREAS it is reprefented to this general affembly, by the petition of
Robert Buchanan, Simon Wilmer, of Edward and Henry Curry
that they became fecurities for Thomas Jones, deceafed, collector of

Provifo.
