MESSAGE TO THE SENATE
HOUSE OF DELEGATES

Annapolis, Md., March 9, 1962.
By Mr. Boone:
Gentlemen of the Senate:

The House of Delegates, pursuant to the Governor's proclamation,
has met in Special Session and having organized by the election of the
Hon. Perry O. Wilkinson, Speaker and Mr. James P. Mause, Chief Clerk,
is now ready to proceed with the business of the session.

We respectfully propose, with your concurrence, the appointment of
a joint committee of five members, three to be appointed on the part
of the House and two upon the part of the Senate, to wait upon the
Governor and inform him that the General Assembly is now organized
and prepared to receive any communications he may desire to make.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs. Long, Butler
and Quinn.

MESSAGE FROM THE SENATE
SENATE OF MARYLAND

Annapolis, Md., March 9, 1962.
By Senator Pine:
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your Message notifying the Senate of the organi-
zation of your Honorable Body, and proposing a joint committee of five
members, three on the part of the House and two on the part of the
Senate, to wait upon the Governor and inform him that the General
Assembly is now prepared to receive any communications which he may
desire to make.

We concur in your proposal for the appointment of a joint committee
of five members, and have appointed on the part of the Senate, Senators
Hughes and Snyder.

We also desire to inform you that the Senate of Maryland is organized,
The Hon. George W. Delia having been elected President and J. Waters
Parrish having been elected Secretary of the Senate.
