House Resolution No. 3—By Messrs. Reed, Kelley, Driscoll, Cook, Bray
and Payne:

House Resolution commending the Honorable Joseph H. Hahn, Jr.

The Honorable Joseph H. Hahn, Jr. of Carroll County is presently
completing a distinguished record of service of twenty consecutive years
in this House. He will be retiring from this body to run as a candidate
for the State Senate from Carroll County.

Jack Hahn was first elected to the House in 1942 at the age of 24,
and he was subsequently re-elected for four additional terms.

He is presently a member of the Ways and Means Committee and
in 1958 he served on the Legislative Council. During the years of 1959,
1960 and 1961, he served as a member of the influential committee on
Taxation and Fiscal matters.

Jack Hahn has acquired a thorough and complete knowledge of the
affairs of his county and of the State through his many years of service
in this body and we wish him well in his candidacy to the State Senate
from Carroll County; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates of Maryland, That we commend
the Honorable Joseph H. Hahn, Jr. of Carroll County for his service in
this body; and be it further

Resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to Delegate Hahn.
Which was read and adopted.

On motion of Mr. Boone, duly seconded, and two-thirds of the mem-
bers-elect voting in the affirmative, the rules were suspended by yeas and
nays as follows, for the purpose of introducing House Resolution No. 4.
