And the afd John in his proper person and the Jurors of that
Jury being Impannelled and called likewise came to wit Griffith
Jones, Thomas Bordley, Chriso. Billeian, John Connaday, John
Webb, Hans Hanson, William Graves, John Redgrave, Peter
Jones, David Jones, DavidJoseph Hull, Lullener Middleton, who
being duly Elected tryed and Sworn to say the truth in the prms
And the same John Ednew Appearing to the Verdict of the Jurors
and upon their Oath do say that the afd John is guilty as he sta[nds]
Indicted and by Griffith Jones their foreman all so say &c.
Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at
Kent County afd at the Court house in the Town of Chester in
said County on the third tuesday of June being the twentieth day
of said month in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred
                                                                    in and upon
thirty & Eight that the afd John stand half an hour on ^ the
pillary in the County afd And shall be whipt at the publick
Whiping post of the same County with five lashes upon the
bear back of him the same John and the blood to Appear
Also it is Considered at the time and place afd that the said
John pay the sum of Eight hundred & thirty One pounds
of tobacco Costs accrueing on the premisses afd to the Officers
of this Court &c.                           Jams. Smith Clk.
Ordered by this Court here that the afd John give Security
for the Fees Accrueing on the premisses afd to the severall
Officer of this Court
Thereupon John Ednew and Benjamin Palmer in
their proper persons comes and defends the force acknow:
:ledgeth themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord
propry. of Maryland in the sum of fifteen hundred pounds
of tobacco Each to be made & Leveyed on their bodys
goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements for the use
of his said Lordship his heirs & Successors With Condn.
that the said John Ednew do pay the fees Accrueing
on the premisses afd to the Officers of this Court Then
this Recognizance to be Void Else to remain in full
force and Virtue in Law
