Mr. Clark leaves surviving his widow, Mary Sleman Clark, and
two sons, Paul S. and Robert Duncan, Jr.; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the deepest
sympathy of this body be expressed over the passing of R. Duncan
Clark; and be it further

Resolved, That copies of this Resolution are sent to Mrs. Mary
Sleman Clark and to Paul S. and Robert Duncan Clark, Jr.

(House Joint Resolution 14)

House Joint Resolution expressing sympathy on the death of Miss
Ella R. Plummer.

Miss Ella R. Plummer, Chief Judge of the Orphans' Court of
Montgomery County, died on December 16, 1962. At the time of
her death she was 80 years of age.

She had been Chief Judge of the Orphans' Court since 1954, and
had been re-elected to a third term in that position.

Miss Plummer was a life-long resident of Montgomery County,
having been born in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She was the daughter
of Samuel R. Plummer and Roberta P. Plummer.

Miss Plummer first became associated with the Orphans' Court
of Montgomery County when she was appointed as a clerk to the
Register of Wills in 1920. In 1923 she was appointed Deputy Clerk
of the Register of Wills and in 1941 was appointed Chief Deputy
in that office.

Miss Plummer was a charter member of the Tench Tilghman
Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was
an active member of the Montgomery County Historical Society and
the Grace Methodist Church in Gaithersburg.

Miss Plummer was a graduate of the Wesleyan Female Institute
in Staunton, Virginia, and the Randolph Macon Institute in Danville,
Virginia.

Miss Plummer leaves surviving her numerous nephews and nieces
in Montgomery County and in Maryland. Her next of kin is her
sister, Agnes P. Rhodes, Atlanta, Georgia; now, therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the deepest
sympathies of this body be expressed over the passing of Miss Ella
R. Plummer; and be it further

Resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to Mrs. Agnes
P. Rhodes, Atlanta, Georgia.
