1963, Ch. 587—Ellerslie Special Tax Area, Allegany County

Office of the Secretary of State of Maryland

To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of Maryland,
pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of Article 33 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), Do Hereby Certify,
That at a Special Election held in Election District 20, Precinct 1 of
Allegany County, Maryland, on June 11, 1963, an Act known as
Chapter 587 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1963,
was submitted to the voters of said Election District 20, Precinct 1 of
said Allegany County for their adoption or rejection under the pro-
visions of Chapter 587 of the Acts of 1963, said Act being as follows:

"An Act to add new Sections 145A to 145D, inclusive, to the
Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1955 Edition,
being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,)
title "Allegany County," to follow immediately after Section
145 thereof and to be under the new sub-title "Ellerslie Special
Tax Area", creating the community of Ellerslie in Allegany
County as a special taxing area for the purpose of providing
electric lights along the streets, alleys, and public ways of
Ellerslie, defining the extent of this special taxing area, pro-
viding for the imposition of certain taxes therein and relating
generally to the duties of the County Commissioners and of
the community of Ellerslie with respect to such electric light-
ing system; and submitting this act to a referendum of the
voters in said tax area."

and I do certify that at said election held in Election District 20,
Precinct 1 in Allegany County, 124 votes were cast in favor of the
adoption of Chapter 587 of the Acts of 1963 and 70 votes were cast
against the adoption thereof, and a majority of the votes being cast
in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 587 of the Acts of 1963, the
said Act has been ratified by the voters of Election District 20, Pre-
cinct 1 of Allegany County, Maryland.

In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official Seal at the City of Annapolis,
this 24th day of June, 1963.
