The purpose of this message is to express to you my appreciation,
and the appreciation of the people of Maryland, for the diligent manner
in which you handled these controversial and troublesome problems during
this short time.

On behalf of the people of Maryland I wish to commend you for the
excellent way in which you have discharged your responsibilities in the
high office you hold.

MESSAGE TO THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES

March 14, 1964.
By the Senate:
By Senator Wheatley:
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We propose the appointment of a joint committee, two on the part
of the Senate and two on the part of the House to wait upon His Ex-
cellency, the Governor of Maryland, and inform him that the General
Assembly will adjourn March 14, 1964, at 11:45 o'clock, sine die, in
accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and to inquire if he
has any further communications to make to the General Assembly.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Senators Parran and
Raley.
