       On the Back of the aforegoing Letter of Attorney was thus Endorsed Viz.t

       Maryland fs
                            Then came James Maccubbin before me one of his Lordships Justices of
       the Provincial Court and maketh Oath that he this Deponent was Present and did see
       William Perkins (by the Name Stile and Title of William Perkins of London Merchant)
       Sign Seal and as his Act and Deed in due form of Law Execute and deliver the Letter
       of Attorney for the Uses Intents and Purposes therein mentioned and that in Testimony
       of such Execution Isaac Johns and Hensey Johns and he this Deponent severally
       Signed or Subscribed their Names as Witnesses thereto

Ex.d To His Excellency Samuel Ogle Esq.r Governor of Maryland The Petition of
       William Maccubbin of Ann Arundel County
          Humbly Sheweth
                               That a certain Enoch Connelly of Pipe Creek in Prince Georges County
       together with John Reynolds late of Annapolis Barbar in the Year seventeen hundred and thirty
       five were Bound by Recognizance in fifty Pounds Current Money each for the said Connelly's
       appear ^at^ the then next Provincial Court But so it happened may it please your Excellency
       that the said Connelly by lending his Horses to a Neighbour to Remove near the time when he
       should have made his appearance the Person carried Off the Horses and did not return them
       whereby he Neglected to appear (the Distance being near Seventy Miles from the Provincial Court
       for want of a Horse he being an Ancient Man) so that the Recognizan^c^e became forfeit That the
       said Connelly Mortgaged One Hundred Acres of Land as a Security to the said Reynolds who
       became Bound with him whose Widow or the Person that Married her keeps the Mortgage
       and threatens to Sell the Land under Pretence of suffering by the Recognizance But as
       the said Reynolds nor his Representatives have suffered the Recognizance not having been
       Estreated Your Petitioner most humbly Prays Your Excellency out of your known Goodness &
       Clemency will be Pleased to Remit the forfeiture of the Recognizance afs.d he being a very
       Poor Man and having nothing but the 100 Acres of Land afs.d to Depend upon (which is
       greatly Incumbered by means of the Entering into the Recognizance as afs.d) to maintain
       his Wife and family                                       and he as in Duty Bound will pray &c

          May 25.th 1748

Ex.d This Indenture made this 4.th day of June in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and fifty Between
       William Maccubbin of Ann Arundel County Wheelright on the one part and Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis
       Surgeon on the other part Whereas Enoch Conly by Indenture bearing date the nineteenth day of April in the Year
       of our Lord seventeen hundred forty & eight did Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto him the
       said William Maccubbin all that Tract or Parcel of Land called Strawberry Plains Situate lying and being in
       Baltimore County as by referrence thereunto had more fully may appear now this Indenture Witnesseth
       that the said William M.cCubbin for and in Consideration of the Sum of thirty one Pounds Sterling Money
       of Great Britain to him in hand paid by him the said Charles Carroll the Receipt whereof he doth hereby
