WHEREAS, The needs and desires of the community to use public school
facilities in the evening are expanding.

WHEREAS, It therefore becomes increasingly necessary for our public schools
to be prepared for a power emergency, at anytime, day or night, to accommodate
the community needs: now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
State Superintendent of Education, in conjunction with local superintendents and
the Inter-Agency Public School Construction Program Committee study the
feasibility, necessity, desirability and cost of installing emergency generators in
Maryland public schools; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to Mr. Alford R. Carey,
Jr., Executive Director, Public School Construction Program, Suite 600,
International Tower Building, 6510 Elkridge Landing Road, Linthicum, Maryland
21090, and Dr. James A. Sensenbaugh, State Superintendent of Schools, Maryland
State Department of Education, P.O. Box 8717, Friendship International Airport,
Baltimore, Maryland 21240.

(House Joint Resolution 82)

House Joint Resolution requesting the proper officials of Harford County to take
certain steps relating to water and related facilities in that County.

WHEREAS, In accordance with Article 43, Section 387C of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, the County Commissioners, the then governing body of
Harford County, on December 31, 1969, submitted to the Maryland State
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene the Harford County Plan for Water,
Sewerage and Storm Drainage as prepared by the Metropolitan Commission of
Harford County; and

WHEREAS, Statements, correspondence or supporting data are recorded in the
file of the Harford County Metropolitan Commission certifying that the following
acts have transpired:

(1)  The governing body of Harford County on December 8, 1969, adopted the
Harford County Water and Sewerage Plan as required by Section 387C of Article
43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.

(2)  Correspondence, including a copy of the County Plan, has been filed with
each official planning agency in Harford County requesting review and comment
regarding concurrence of the Plan with their respective area of responsibility.

(3)  The governing body of each incorporated town and the officials of public
and private utilities have been afforded the opportunity to be heard with respect to
the County Plan and their comments recorded.

(4)   The Maryland State Department of Water Resources has reviewed the
County Plan, and those comments necessary for concurrence with State and
County water and wastewater regulations have been included in the Plan.
