House Bill No. 2137 - State Public School
Construction Bonds

AN ACT concerning

Creation of a State Debt — State Public School
Construction and Capital Improvement Loan of 1976

FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State
Debt in the amount of $50,000,000, the proceeds to
be used to finance the construction of public school
buildings and public school capital improvements in
this State, and providing generally for the issue
and sale of bonds evidencing such loan.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
2137.

This bill authorizes creation of a State debt of
fifty million dollars as the State Public School
Construction and Capital Improvement Loan of 1976.

Senate Bill 1003, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 4, 1976, accomplishes
the same purpose.

Therefore, it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 2137.
