AN ACT concerning

Juvenile Services Administration - Appointment of
Director and Deputy Director

FOR the purpose of requiring that the appointment of the Director
of the Juvenile Services Administration of the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene be made by the Governor with the
advice of the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene and
advice and consent of the Senate of Maryland; specifying
that the Director serves at the pleasure of the Governor;
repealing a certain provision of law requiring that the
Director of the Juvenile Services Administration be
appointed and hold office under the Merit System of
Maryland; repealing certain provisions of law regarding the
qualification and selection process of the Director of the
Juvenile Services Administration; requiring the appointment

of the deputy director of the Juvenile Services

Administration to be made by the Governor; generally

relating to the appointment of the Director and deputy
director of the Juvenile Services Administration of the
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; specifying the
intent of this Act; and making this Act an emergency
measure.
