Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1412.

This bill authorizes Harford County to grant a local property tax
credit for property owned or held for future use by a volunteer
fire or ambulance company.

Senate Bill 848, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 27, 1988, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 1412.

AN ACT concerning

Harford County - Property Tax Credit - Harford County

Volunteer Fire and/or Company and Harford County

Volunteer Ambulance Company

FOR the purpose of authorizing the governing body of Harford
County to grant a credit against county property tax imposed
on certain real property owned by a Harford County volunteer
fire and/or company or Harford County volunteer ambulance
company; and providing for the applicability of this Act.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
