promissory note and the legal Interest thereon at the time limited
for the payment or of any part thereof then and from thenceforth
it shall be lawfull for the said James Graham and Robert Graham
their executors administrators or assigns to enter upon and take
possesion of the said schooner or vessel her Masts Yards sails Riggin
anchors, cables, boats Tackle apparel and appurtenances aforesaid
and to grant, bargain, sell and dispose of the same and all other
the premises aforesaid as Public Auction or Vendue in the city
of Baltimore or elsewhere first giving Ten days notice of the time
and a place of such sale and as the attorney of the said Edward
Mezick or otherwise to make, seal execute and deliver to the purchase
or purchasers thereof a good and sufficient bill of sale or other conveyance
thereof and out of the mercies arising from such sale to retain all such
sum s or sums of money which shall then be due on such promissory note
according to the true intent and meaning thereof together with
all costs and expenses attending such sale; rendering the surplus
money (if any) to the said Edward Mezick his executors administrators
or assigns   In witness whereof the said Edward Mezick
hath hereunto set his Hand and Seal this twenty second day of
December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and
forty two

    State of Maryland        Be it Known that on this twenty third day
    Dorchester County tn   of December in the year of our Lord Eighteen
    hundred and forty two before me the subscriber a Justice of the
    peace of the State of Maryland in and for the County of Dorchester
    personally appeared Edward Mezick and acknowledged the
    foregoing mortgage or instrument of writing to be his act
    and deed                                                Geo A L Smith


                                       Be it remembered that the following
    W. V. st Edmondson   bill of sale was recorded on 3 Jany anno
    Ex.d      from               domini 1843 to wit   Know all men by these
    W Hardings                 presents that I William Harding of Dorchester
    County state of Maryland for and in consideration of the Sum of
    Two hundred twenty five dollars and five cents current money of
    Maryland and now due unto W ^M^ Edmondson of the county and
    state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery of these
    presents the justicess of which indebtedness I do hereby acknowledge
    have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
