AN ACT concerning

Creation of Department of Correction

FOR THE PURPOSE OF transferring the responsibility for the operation of the
Caroline County Detention Center from the Sheriff of Caroline County to a
Superintendent; providing for the appointment of a Superintendent of the Caroline
County Detention Center; providing for the qualifications of the Superintendent and
providing that the Superintendent of the Caroline County Detention Center shall assume
the responsibilities of the Sheriff related to operation of the Detention Center and the
care and security of persons committed to the Detention Center while they are in the
Superintendent's custody; providing for the creation of a Department of Correction,
providing for the salary of the Superintendent and providing generally for the powers and
duties of the Superintendent.
